PLES SOBJE by Don Papa vol. 6: SHADOWS of SUGARLANDIA

Last Saturday 29th March will forever be etched in the memories of those who attended the unforgettable event SHADOWS of SUGARLANDIA. The 6th edition of Ples Sobje by Don Papa transformed the industrial Uhelný Mlýn into a place where fantasy, identity, and reality collided in surrealist symbiosis. Smoke, lights, and decadence blurred the lines between dreams and reality, while masks and costumes allowed guests to become part of a living artistic vision. Every detail – from the drinks to the music – contributed to creating a unique artistic universe.

A Journey into Sugarland: The Start at the Train Station

The evening began at the train station, where guests gathered, ready for an unforgettable adventure. A specially arranged train took them to the event venue at the industrial Uhelný Mlýn in Libčice nad Vltavou. The train, symbolizing a journey to another reality, was filled with creative costumes and imaginative masks provided by Don Papa. During the ride, guests were treated to dynamic music by DJ twins Alex and Simona Katzer and a unique culinary experience by the ZE MĚ project, offering smoky, flavorful dishes inspired by smoke cooking. Every moment of the journey was part of a larger artistic piece, continuing through to the main event.

A Mysterious Arrival in Sugarland

Upon arriving at Uhelný Mlýn, guests were greeted with a welcome drink courtesy of Don Papa, giving them a taste of the evening ahead. The night’s music began Nill Garçon, a Prague-based DJ known for her residency at the Brno club Vitamín. Her opening set was a mere preview of the intense musical journey that awaited. Guests could enjoy original cocktails from Don Papa and specialties prepared on the outdoor smoke kitchen by the ZE MĚ project.

The night continued with Czech pop singer and producer Tea Sofia, who performed an unreleased song and added a personal touch to the evening's magical atmosphere. Following her, DJ Barbara took over the decks for an electrifying DJ set that set the mood for the party. When wedding-themed music began playing, no one expected a typical wedding ceremony, but rather an original DJ set that was truly out of the ordinary.

The dance floor soon came alive, with professional dancer and performer Monina Nevrlá and her crew, including Vojtěch Koberský and Dmitrii Turbanov, showcasing three captivating performances focused on theatrical jazz and vogueing. The music for these performances was provided by artist Fralaa who also played a solo DJ set later in the evening. The night was brought to a close by Vi Huyen Tran, aka dējāvi, whose energetic electro-pop performance culminated the night with an explosion of energy, wrapping up the unique atmosphere of Plesu Sobje.

Shape Your Shadow: Creative Outfits that Brought the Ball to Life

One of the most striking elements of the night was the creativity of the guests, who embraced the Shape Your Shadowdress code. Costumes of all shapes, sizes, and materials required an original approach – from handmade pieces to designer outfits, each featuring masks with intricate details. This creativity fit perfectly into the surreal atmosphere of the evening, where guests became part of a living art installation.

Art, Creativity, and Sensory Experiences

Ples Sobje by Don Papa is not just about dancing and partying; it’s about the fusion of different artistic spheres and creativity. In this unique environment, artists, designers, architects, and lovers of unusual experiences gathered to share a passion for unique sensory stimuli. The event continues to be a yearly celebration of art that transcends ordinary experiences, blending music, design, and performance into one living, evolving artwork.

Conclusion: The Magic of Ples Sobje

As the last lights dimmed and the final dances concluded, Ples Sobje by Don Papa reaffirmed its position as one of the most highly anticipated and stunning cultural events of the year. This night was a celebration of creativity, uniqueness, and sensory adventure. With each passing year, Ples Sobje edges closer to becoming a completely original artistic and cultural experience – a symbiosis where fantasy and reality meet in perfect harmony.
