New to Karlín
Our creative director - Lucie Desmond recently had the chance to stay at Rezidence Karlín by TKC Group, a modern and elegant accommodation option in one of Prague's most vibrant districts. During her two-night stay, Lucie explored the beauty of Karlín, indulged in its culinary delights, and experienced the unique charm of this dynamic neighborhood. Here are some must-visit spots in Karlín.
Can you tell us about your stay at Karlín Residence and how you explored Karlín?
I'd be happy to share my experiences. I spent two nights at Karlín Residence, and it was truly exceptional. With my family we stayed in a two floor apartment with two bedrooms and a terrace. The apartment was modern, spacious, and very comfortable. The terrace was a great place to relax after a day of exploring the city. The entire residence is designed with attention to detail, so I felt right at home.
What impression did the Karlín district leave on you?
We live in Prague 6 and I come to Karlín usually for business meetings, being here and having time to explore this part of Prague was amazing! Karlín absolutely enchanted me. It’s a part of Prague with a unique atmosphere. The combination of historical buildings and modern architecture creates an interesting contrast. Karlín is very lively and dynamic, which I really liked. The proximity to the city center is a huge advantage, so I had everything within reach.
What places did you visit in Karlín?
Karlín is known for its great gastronomy, so I focused mainly on foodie spots. I visited several restaurants and cafes that were absolutely amazing. The food was excellent and the atmosphere very pleasant. Besides that, I enjoyed walks around Karlín, exploring local parks, and historic nooks. Also shopping is great here! Ive visited Nila, Byssine and Creammy :) all shops you should visit if you like fashion, quality cosmetics or beautiful toys and cloths for kids.
That sounds great! Can you tell us more about specific restaurants and cafes you visited in Karlín?
One of them was Eska, which is known for its modern take on traditional Czech cuisine. We came here one morning for breakfast. The food there was absolutely fantastic, and the atmosphere was very pleasant. We would also recommend a breakfast at Dvorek Karlín - bistro and bakery was perfect spot for a morning coffee and relaxing time before the day started.
One evening we went for dinner to Hong Kong - modern Asian open kitchen. Karlín Residence staff have organised a baby sitter for us, so we could spent an evening just the two us with my husband. The food here was exceptional! We had the traditional Peking duck, DIM SUM dumplings and seafood.
There is also a lots of lunch spots around Karlín. My husband is a pasta lover so we went to Cihelna La Familia for Spaghetti Carbonara! They also do fresh pizza from the traditional oven! We will definitely be back!
And for the last night of our stay we went for dinner to Pohostinec Karlín and it was a truly exceptional experience! Their menu also features steaks from USDA-certified aged meat, adding a modern twist to the whole concept. What we really loved was the kids corner at the back of the restaurant, it allowed us to enjoy the degustations of steaks which was absolutely delicious! Really recommended to all the meat lovers as you can see the process of aging the steaks and with an open kitchen you can watch the staff to prepare it.
How would you summarize your stay at Karlín Residence?
My stay at Karlín Residence exceeded my expectations. It offers excellent comfort and modern amenities, which made my stay very pleasant. The staff was helpful and friendly, which also contributed to the overall positive experience. Karlín itself is a beautiful district full of life, history, and great gastronomy. I would definitely like to return here and would recommend Karlín Residence to anyone looking for a great place to stay in Prague.
What surprised you the most about Karlín?
I was most surprised by the combination of the historic and the modern. It’s amazing to see how old industrial buildings have been transformed into modern offices, apartments, and cultural spaces. I was also very pleased with how lively and dynamic this district is. Every day, I discovered something new – whether it was a new restaurant or beautiful park.
How satisfied were you with the amenities and services at Karlín Residence?
I was absolutely satisfied. The apartment was well-equipped, everything was clean and modern. The air conditioning was a big plus, especially during the hot summer days. The terrace was wonderful for evening relaxation. As for services, the staff was very professional and helpful. During our stay it was my husband’s Bday :) and he received bottle of champagne which was waiting for us in the appartment. I felt well taken care of.
Do you plan to return to Karlín or Karlín Residence?
Definitely yes! My stay in Karlín and Karlín Residence was so pleasant that I would love to return. Prague has many beautiful places, but Karlín caught my attention with its unique atmosphere. I would certainly like to visit my favorite spots again.
